Doosan Bobcat has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MAUM.AI, an AI solutions company, to collaborate on the development of autonomous technologies for construction equipment. The agreement was signed June 2 at Bundang Doosan Tower in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

This collaboration supports Doosan Bobcat’s physical AI initiatives in the construction equipment sector. Doosan Bobcat will provide compact construction equipment products and data, while MAUM.AI will explore the application of AI-driven autonomous task capabilities based on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. The companies plan to jointly validate feasibility and advance proof-of-concept testing for autonomous task technologies.

“This collaboration is a significant step toward expanding the real-world use of autonomous task technologies in construction equipment,” said Charlie (Hyunchul) Park, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Doosan Bobcat. “We remain focused on advancing innovations that enhance customer productivity and operational efficiency, while leading the construction industry’s next phase of growth.”

Hongseop Choi, Chief Executive Officer of MAUM.AI, said, “The range of tasks that AI can understand and perform in the construction equipment industry is expected to expand rapidly in the years ahead. Through VLA-based physical AI technologies, MAUM.AI will help elevate the level of autonomy in industrial equipment and remain focused on delivering AI solutions that can be applied in real-world jobsites.”

Through collaborations and investments with global companies, Doosan Bobcat has continued to build the core technologies and data needed to advance autonomous work and unmanned solutions, including radar, equipment automation, perception and decision-making. Notable partnerships include U.S.-based companies such as Ainstein, a radar specialty company; Greenzie, a commercial lawn mower autonomous software company; Agtonomy, an agtech software company; and Civ Robotics, an autonomous surveying vehicle company.

At CES 2026, Doosan Bobcat also unveiled “Jobsite Companion,” an AI-enabled, voice-activated technology capable of controlling more than 50 functions. Doosan Bobcat plans to launch new compact loaders in the U.S. this summer, with the technology available as an option.

Together, Doosan Bobcat and MAUM.AI aim to bring autonomous technologies closer to real-world construction environments, delivering innovative solutions that improve productivity, efficiency and precision.
